Friday FUNday!

So instead of dragging Cake all around town to do grocery/coupon shopping I decided that today we would just stay home and have fun. When I asked Cake what she wanted to do today, her immediate response was PAINT! This kid has an artistic side to her that I just don't have. But I do try to have at least one day a week that I do a craft with her. Today we decided to paint some canvas as gifts for both Cake's Mimi and Nono. Then since we had left over paint and an unsatisfied creative bug we decided to pick some rocks up in the backyard and paint/decorate them. Turns out rock painting was a huge hit! Cake went to town on her rocks and even gave some of them names. I can't wait until these dry and we can place them all over the yard. I am thinking that most will go in the front yard (since the dog still insists on chewing apart any foreign substance he finds in his yard) and one will go on the patio table as a napkin weight. I must say that I have a feeling that as Cake gets older I will be that mom that collects every scrap of anything that Cake makes. I guess I need to start looking for huge storage bins on sale now!

Zumba!

So now that my personal training is over I have been trying to find different ways to motivate myself to go to the gym. And throughout this process I have found that I just simply hate working out. I mean after I am done working out I'm glad I went but I can't seem to get in the zone of loving working out.
Since I was burnt out on the elliptical, treadmill, and other various cardio equipment I decided to see what the zumba craze was all about. Now I know why everyone raves about it! I love zumba for so many different reasons:
1. its a fun way to spend an hour working out-WAY better than the treadmill
2. fun fun fun music. I don't even really realize I'm working out- I mostly feel like I'm dancing and singing along to the music
3. Being in the class keeps me from quitting when I get tired or think its too hard

and most importantly...

4. the people in the class seriously crack me up!
Now, I'm not professing to be the best person there (FAR from it) but to people watch honestly amuses me. My favorite is when the instructor holds her hand in the air with the number of repetitions left of a move and at least 25% of people in the class throw the number up and then as it dawns on them they slowly try to bring their hands down. I don't know why but this always makes me giggle.

Side note: why were gyms built with windows that don't open? Seriously the gym gets this super awful FUNK that can be overwhelming. If the top set of windows opened it would eliminate the problem! Gym design FAIL.
The gym kinda smells like this guy

Holy time lapse.

Cake at Zoomars

Wow. So apparently I have the worst memory ever or I am easily distracted and forgetful. Or a combination of all of the above.
I can't believe that I forgot about this blog! And course I couldn't remember my password. Sheesh. I'm a mess. An aging, blind, forgetful mess.

I am going to have to write this blog down on my daily list of things to do so that I can remember to update in here on the daily!
Because I am blind at night and don't have my glasses yet, this post will have to be over until tomorrow morning/day.
